Best known as Pinot Grigio in Italy, Eola’s Pinto Gris leans more towards the French-Alsatian style of aromatic, rich and full-bodied wine that is fantastic with cream-based dishes and shellfish. This Pinot Gris was made exclusively from estate-grown grapes from estate vineyards located in the Eola-Amity Hills of the Willamette Valley.

Description

The right vines, rich soil, and a proper climate are the basis for our excellence. The French call it “terroir”. We call it Oregon.

In the early 1980s, Oregonian Tom Huggins found himself intrigued by the notion of creating great regional wines in the Willamette Valley.

Today, Eola Hills Wine Cellars is one of Oregon’s largest wineries, farming nearly 327 acres of prime vineyard land, and producing fine wines that are enjoyed across the country and as far away as China. Still locally owned and operated, with Tom Huggins as general manager and his daughter, Kylie, on board to take the winery into the next generation. Our goal is to make wines that we feel capture the spirit and flavors of Oregon – we hope you enjoy them.

Tasting Notes

Perfume and fruit on the nose, followed by ripe red apples and Bergamot. Fresh fruit aromas of pear, Granny Smith apple and jasmine flowers. Smooth in body, light, clean and tart.

Food Pairing Tips:

Serve with grilled prawns marinated in lemon and pineapple juices, or with chicken simmered in a white wine sauce and served with garden fresh vegetables.
